Augmentin 625 tablet is an antibiotic of penicillin type. The main function of the tablet is to help your body recover from infections caused by bacteria.

For mild infections in adults, the dose of one 500 mg tablet every 12 hours or one 250 mg tablet every 8 hours is ideal.

In case of severe infections or respiratory tract infections, one 875 mg tablet every 12 hours or one 500 mg tablet after every 8 hours is prescribed.

If the patient prefers to take the oral suspension instead of tablets, dosage can vary. 500 mg tablet can be substituted with 125 mg per 5 ml or 250 mg per 5 ml of the suspension.

The 875 mg dose for severe infections can be replaced with 200 mg per 5 ml or 400 mg per 5 ml of suspension.
